I rummaged through some of my old dusty files and journals to find these oldies. They aren’t all good, but to me they are golden, because I’m proud my thirteen-year-old self managed to come up with these stuff😊.
To start with the worst of the lot:
I haven’t spent much energy on this at all. I like the mountains, though – they are exactly what they look like on a clear day. And why is the water so blue?
This was drawn with pastels on a dark pink board, and it shows.
The quintessential Elephant Looking Out Into The Lake At Sunset Cliche Painting. Every Sri Lankan student must have drawn something like this. It’s easy, uses up very little energy and always looks gorgeous.
The story ends when this green cup tips over and spills its contents over our schoolbooks.
The buildings are rather carelessly done but otherwise I love this – it’s so bright and colourful.
My personal favourite – this pic is full of life.
My hand, Gothic horror style
I drew this to a Tennyson poem, The Eagle:
He clasps the crag with crooked hands//Close to the sun in lonely lands//Ringed with the azure world he stands
My only regret is that I didn’t draw it on a better paper.
I swear I don’t look like this. I just don’t. I look more like my profile pic than this…
Okay, maybe it does look a teeny bit like me. Just flatten the cheeks a bit and put a 32-toothed smile, and that’s me. That thing above looks like a mugshot.
There are a few more but they’re either spoiled or I don’t like them, so I haven’t included them here. After 2018 my life became reeeally hectic and I didn’t have time to do much of anything, including studying, let alone drawing. I’m just waiting till my exams are over with so I can rediscover my love for drawing. Until then, it can wait.
Give me your feedback! I hoped you enjoyed my post!!
