Two months down; ten more to go. And I really really really wish time would slow down. February was an okay-ish month. Not too bad, and not exactly awesome either. Well, maybe a little bit leaning to the bad side. The last days were spent me staring at the blank screen and blinking cursor, or maybe watching my sis and her boyfriend build a complex Lego model and totally ignoring that I am on the third wheel. You know, the usual stuff.

What I read: only one book?

This shouldn’t be a surprise for me, considering that I am tired of rereading the same books again and again. Social distancing = cannot meet friends, from whom I usually borrow most of my reading material. I did reread one book, though:

The Village in the Jungle by Leonard Woolf

This book is creepy and chilling and violent and deeply disturbing. I’m hanging between three stars (because of that traumatising ending *shudders*) and four stars (because it actually very accurately portrays what lengths people would go to when they are pushed into a corner). Trigger warnings: domestic abuse, rape, murder, sexism, racism

I’ll be reviewing this book some time later. Am still wondering why this book ended up in my Sinhala textbook when there are much more uplifting books out there.

What I watched

Lord of the Rings: the Return of the King

EPIC doesn’t even match up. I mean, this movie got nominated for eleven Oscars and won all freaking eleven. What else do I need to say? On the flipside, it’s just so looooong. I didn’t actually feel it, but now I realise that we (my sisters and I) divided this film into two and watched it in two days. Four hours of awesomeness. Okay, I’ll stop now.

Pride and Prejudice (the 2005 version)

My sister was watching this and I jumped in somewhere in the middle. So it’s basically half a film…I’ll be watching the rest this month☺

On my blog

I changed my blog’s design (once? Twice? I can’t remember) and I just can’t help it. You know, that nagging feeling you get when something just isn’t right? Or maybe I just wanted to kill time.

I wrote 6 posts in February.

One word: StUdYinG. Or at least trying to. I’m lowkey freaking out because there’s only five months left for August. And there’s that thing that I ignore Chemistry and Physics and do only Math. I have to stop doing that.

The WordPress app in my tablet crashed and the post editor stopped loading and my heart also stopped for a second. I had to delete all the data in history and sign in again. Thank God it worked. My tab is super slow and has a talent for giving me heart attacks.

Did I mention that one of my cute little kittens died? But the other two are strong and healthy (touch wood) and I really hope they grow up well!

That’s a wrap, then!

  1. Gosh I hate studying 😫 There’s so much more of it now with online school, it sucks really bad. And I get the changing blog designs thing. I’ve done that so many times, and I’m still tinkering with the site 😅 Aw I’m sorry about the kitten, I just hope the other two grow up strong and well 💙

  2. Aw. That is sad that u have to keep re-reading the same book again and again. Maybe if you are not uncomfortable with reading on ur laptop or phone, you try searching for books online. they are available for free online. Plus a lot of books on Amazon kindle are free. You can try those too! Oh and by the way I tend to ignore physics too. haaha. Good luck!

  4. I’m so sorry about your kitten 😥 But I’m glad the other ones are doing well! And I totally relate to having studying take over your life and hating it, and to wanting to prioritize math over everything else 🤣 But hang in there! You’ve got this!

  5. Sorry about your kitten! All the best for your studies, it’s annoying haha.

I totally get you and changing blog design because it doesn’t feel right. Have fun experimenting and I hope it feels right soon 😊

  6. Wow, that book seems intense. Can’t wait to read the review (unless it’s already out, I might have missed it). I have never watched the Return of the Ring but definitely planning to!! Was this your first time watching Pride and Prejudice? it’s one of my favourite movies ever and it’s my comfort film; I know it by heart haha! Lovely wrap-up! 💕🥰
