Hi peeps! I’ve got a lot of posts in my drafts folder but today I decided to publish this one: meet the book blogger tag, created by Samantha and Amber over at Bibliomavens! Thanks so much, Isha at Paperback Tomes, and Cherry, at Letters to the Lost, for tagging me!
Let’s get into the tag right away!
🌾 Nominated bloggers can nominate ten other bloggers
🌾 Use the same questions from the tag
🌾 Tag the original creator (Bibliomavens) and the blogger who tagged you (Isha and Cherry)
WHO IS YOUR ALL TIME FAVOURITE BOOK CHARACTER?
So many of them! But if you’re asking for one specific person…Luna Lovegood.
She’s just so weird and kind and comfortable in her own skin and so unapologetically herself and does all that without wandering into ‘manic pixie dream girl’ territory. She’s also very intelligent, empathetic, creative and brave. Did I mention weird?
IF YOU WERE STRANDED ON A DESERT ISLAND, WHICH BOOK WOULD YOU TAKE WITH YOU? (SURVIVAL BOOKS DO NOT COUNT)
My guess is I’ll take a hyped YA book that I really, really want to read but I don’t have time to. Because if I’m stranded on a desert island the one thing I do have for sure is a lot of time. Legendborn. Or The Gilded Ones. Spin the Dawn, Six of Crows. Oh right. I can take only one. Can’t I just drag an entire library (minus the survival books, of course) to this island with me?
WHAT IS YOUR MOST UNPOPULAR BOOKISH OPINION?
The Grisha trilogy was not that bad. In fact, I found it to be quite good. And, um, Pride and Prejudice is boring. I tried to give it another adjective because it seemed like everyone else in the universe loved this book, but I’ll best be frank with myself. Jane Austen’s books are not for me.
WHAT’S YOUR WEIRDEST BOOKISH HABIT?
Um…I don’t know if this counts as weird, but I love reading rant reviews. Sometimes I’ll just scroll down and down on goodreads looking for that one person who gives a book a one star and has a lot to say about it. It’s just so fun, okay?
WHAT CHARACTER WOULD YOU BRING TO A FAMILY EVENT AS YOUR FAKE PARTNER?
I think I’ll bring Peeta from The Hunger Games. I’m famous for being absent at family events – most likely upstairs reading in my uncle’s home because I suck at talking to people. In fact, me ‘going upstairs and reading’ is a standing joke among my relatives. If there’s one thing I learnt from Hunger Games, it’s that Peeta’s really good at engaging in conversation. I’m sure my relatives will love him.
WHAT MADE YOU DECIDE TO START A BOOK BLOG?
This is kind of a long story. I’ve been actively haunting/stalking the book blogosphere since three years ago. Or even before that. And then I just felt the need to start a blog of some kind. Not a book blog, I thought. I’d never be able to get my hands on those new releases. I don’t even have an Instagram! So I started a wildlife/travel blog on blogger. It took off fairly well and I ran it for about two years before something just felt off about the whole thing. Maybe I just didn’t feel like blogging. And every comment I got felt really tiringly hard earned. I hated the fact that I was commenting on other blogs purely for the sake of getting a comment back, and not because I genuinely enjoyed their posts. And the majority of the wildlife bloggers out there were rich old white men and it was a little bit hard for me to relate to their blog posts. So after that blog sort of naturally fizzled out I once more took to seriously thinking of starting a blog on WordPress. A blog about books, among lots of other things. Because maybe I realised that it’s not how much of books you read that matter but how much you love what you read. Please don’t ask me where my blog name came from. It was a totally spontaneous decision. And me being the indecisive person I am, I spent about four months doing nothing but changing my design and writing a really occasional blog post (which I knew no one would read anyway) and then, FINALLY, I gathered enough guts to reach out to the community. And I am so glad I did.
WHAT ABOUT READING AND BOOKS DO YOU LOVE THE MOST?
Escaping into other worlds. Who wants to stay on boring old earth anyway when you’ve got tons of fascinating universes to visit?
WHAT IS YOUR FIELD OF STUDY/ DESIRED PROFESSION/ CURRENT PROFESSION?
I go to school and I study mathematics. I hope to get into a good university (the best, preferably) and I have no idea what to do after that. I also have a sweet side dream of becoming a published author (don’t we all?)
WHAT ARE SOME BOOK RECOMMENDATIONS THAT BECAME YOUR FAVOURITES/ OBSESSIONS?
Anything Rick Riordan, seriously. I was that kid in class who read Percy Jackson with the book on their lap under the table in the middle of a lesson while at school. Back when I was thirteen/fourteen, I was obsessed. The Magnus Chase series is so golden and so is the Kane Chronicles, which gets overlooked a lot. Read them if you haven’t already!
WHAT IS THE BOOK YOU SHOVE DOWN EVERYONE’S THROAT?
The Lord of the Rings. More especially so because it got shoved down my throat and I ended up LOVING it.
Apologies in advance if you’ve already been tagged for this😃

That’s all, folks! See you next time with my wrap up post!
